Creating feasting fare for YOUR readers...
(our mission, stated Marian-style)
I have been making books for family and friends for years (I was a
desktop publisher for 12 years) so becoming a publisher (of real
books, no less!) makes sense...but, truth be told, it was really feasting
fare that lead me here...to this day!
Okay, so what is feasting fare and what the heck does it have
to do with anything?
feasting fare was one of my two businesses, that catered (no
pun intended) to the non-profit and community service organizations
in Honolulu. It came into being because it was the world I moved
in...and was peopled by hard-working, committed humans who settled
for bento packs and plate lunches when they deserved...feasting fare!
My mission statement for feasting fare said that we were a
food service company...not a caterer...because our mission was to
deliver abundance and quality at plate lunch prices. Prices our
world could afford. And the quality it deserved.
And that pretty much lays out what we want for the world we move in
now. Publishing prices our world can afford. And the quality it deserves!
The world we move in now is a virtual one, filled with hardworking,
committed people. Only, in this world, the world of the Internet, the
table is set with an abundance of information.
I don't know about you, but my download directory is taking over the
harddrive! And I can't take it all in at one sitting. Or even several
sittings, anymore. I want books I can curl up with on the
couch. I want books I can write in and refer back to and hold in my
hands. I know we're supposed to be a paperless society, but
this house is never going to get there as long as I am around. How
many of your customers are the same!
Solution? Make my own books. And maybe yours, too.
Except it is too expensive to bring a title to print using the
existing Print on Demand avenues. Until now. Enter, Profits
Publishing. My answer to ebook overload! At prices you can afford.
